Roselle, NJ -- Roselle Bank, which has served central and northern New Jersey for nearly 130 years, recently announced a 7-week savings challenge prodding students to start saving money from a young age. Branch managers have been working with area schools to arrange group welcome visits to the bank – along with parents or guardians – for money-saving tutorials and to open Student Savings Accounts. To increase participation, Roselle Bank is sweetening the deal by rewarding the student that deposits the most money during the seven-week period with a $25 gift card to Rita’s Italian Ice. Students can open an account with as little as $1.00 and will earn interest on their savings. Those that can’t make it to a specific event are encouraged to stop by anytime to get started. On April 23rd, three students from the Dr. Charles C Polk Elementary School in Roselle opened accounts, proof of which they proudly display in the attached photo. “It’s never too early to start encouraging the money saving habit,” says Detlef Felschow, President & CEO of Roselle Bank. “By enlisting schools to get involved in this savings program, we are doing our part to show youngsters how easy -- and fun-- it can be to set money aside to safely grow with interest.” # # # About Roselle Bank Roselle Bank opened its doors in May of 1889 as the Roselle Building and Loan Association, serving what is now the Borough of Roselle and surrounding communities.
